Weekly summary of the War on Gaza, May 16

- Starvation continues to spread across the Gaza Strip. The situation is more than catastrophic, it is getting worse by the minute.
On Saturday:
- Six Palestinians were killed by an Israeli airstrike on a tent in Al-Sabra area of Gaza city on Saturday.
- 23 Palestinians were killed by Israeli airstrike on the Gaza Strip on Saturday, 123 others were injured.
- A Palestinian was killed by an Israeli airstrike on the roof of a house in Gaza city and four were killed by another airstrike on their tent in Deir Al-Balah on Saturday.
- Two Palestinians were killed by an Israeli airstrike on a school, now turned into a shelter, in Gaza city on Saturday.
On Sunday:
- Eight Palestinians were killed, including four children, by Israeli airstrikes on tents in Khan Younis on Sunday.
- Two Palestinians were killed by an Israeli airstrike on a tent in Deir Al-Balah on Sunday.
- Four Palestinians were killed by an Israeli airstrike on a car in Khan Younis on Sunday.
On Monday:
- 15 Palestinians were killed by an Israeli airstrike on Fatima Biint Asad school in Jabaliya on Monday.
- Four Palestinians were killed by an Israeli airstrike on eastern Khan Younis on Monday. The bodies of two more Palestinians were uncovered on the same day to the West of Khan Younis.
- 39 Palestinians were killed by Israeli airstrikes on Monday in the Gaza Strip.
On Tuesday:
- Three Palestinians were killed by an Israeli airstrike on a tent in northern Gaza on Tuesday.
- Three Palestinians were killed by an Israeli airstrike on the vegetables market in Al-Shujayia on Tuesday.
- An Israeli airstrike targeted the surgery department at the European hospital, killing journalist Hassan Islih.
- Eight Palestinians from the Gaza Strip were released from Israeli jails on Tuesday.
- Israeli forces carried out carpet bombardment around the European hospital in Khan Younis, targeting the area with at least 60 airstrikes on Tuesday. 28 Palestinians were killed in the airstrikes and dozens are still stuck under the rubble of their homes.
On Wednesday:
- At least 50 Palestinians were killed, and 100 others were injured by a series of Israeli airstrikes on Jabalyia on Wednesday.
- Four Palestinians were killed by an Israeli airstrike on a tent to the West of Khan Younis on Wednesday.
- Three Palestinians were killed by an Israeli airstrike on a family home to the West of Khan Younis on Wednesday.
- Three Palestinians were killed by an Israeli airstrike on Al-Shujayia on Wednesday.
- Two Palestinians were killed by an Israeli airstrike on Al-Ayoubia school in Jabalyia on Wednesday.
- Israel issued two evacuation orders, one in Jabalyia on Tuesday, the other in Al-Rimal in Gaza city on Wednesday, warning Palestinians of heavy bombardment.
On Thursday:
- 27 Palestinians were killed, 100 others were injured, some still under the rubble, by Israeli airstrikes that targeted 13 family homes in Khan Younis on Thursday.
- Three Palestinians were killed by an Israeli airstrike on an apartment in Gaza city on Thursday.
- Three Palestinians were targeted by an Israeli drone as they carried sacks of flour near the Sanfour roundabout in Gaza city on Thursday.
- Six Palestinians were killed by an Israeli airstrike on a mosque in Jabalyia on Thursday.
- Three Palestinians prisoners from Gaza passed away in Israeli jails due to medical negligence and torture.
- 130 Palestinians were killed in Gaza on Thursday in what seems to be an Israeli escalation as Trump leaves the region.
On Friday:
- 30 Palestinians were killed and about 120 went missing under the rubble due to a series of Israeli airstrikes on northern Gaza on Friday.
- Two Palestinians were killed by an Israeli airstrike on Al-Shujayia.
- At least 250 Palestinians have been killed in Gaza over the past 40 hours.
- The amount of water available in Gaza has decreased by 70-80% after October 7, further worsening the living conditions of people.
- Ministry of Health in Gaza: 1500 Palestinians lost their vision since October 7, while 4,000 others are at the risk of losing their vision if medical aid is not provided to them.
