Total Death Tolls:
• Since the ceasefire agreement went into effect in Gaza on October 10, 2025, 856 Palestinians have been killed, and 2463 have been injured, and 770 bodies have been uncovered from under the rubble of their homes.
• The number of Palestinians killed since October 7, 2023, has reached 72,742 with 172,565 injured.
• Israeli authorities have opened the Rafah crossing for limited traffic allowing hundreds in and out of Gaza. Italy has received 230 students from Gaza over the past week who travelled to Italy through Israel.
• Palestinians in Gaza mark Nakba, the mass displacement of Palestinians in 1948. Today, Nakba feels ongoing with the genocide that has not yet ended. Palestinians in Gaza see the genocide as a continution of the Nakba of 1948 and that the 2023 genocide in Gaza is a continution of a policy of ethnic cleansing, starvation, and forced displacemnt. Tents scattered across the Gaza Strip reminds us of the reality of refugees in Gaza, where about 70% of people come from a refugee background. It is also a reminder of the ongoing commitment of the AFSC to the question of Palestinian refugees, as it was the AFSC that started Palestinian refugee camps in Gaza back in 1948 before UNRWA was established.
