Weekly summary of the War on Gaza, January 30, 2026

Daily Death Tolls:
• On January 24, 2026, 4 Palestinians were killed by Israeli fire and 12 others were injured. A child aged 3 years named Ali Abuzor died of severe cold in Gaza, bringing the number of Palestinians who died of cold to 10.
• On January 25, 2026, 3 Palestinians were killed by Israeli fire in Gaza, 8 others were injured.
• On January 26, 2026, 3 Palestinians arrived at Gaza’s hospital, two were killed by Israeli fire and one was uncovered from under the rubble of their home, 20 others were injured.
• On January 27, 2026, two Palestinians were killed by Israeli fire, and 9 others were injured by Israeli fire in Gaza.
• On January 28, 2026, the bodies of 5 Palestinians arrived at Gaza’s hospitals, four of them were killed by Israeli fire and one was uncovered from under the rubble, 6 others were injured.
• On January 30, 2026, Israeli airstrikes killed 5 Palestinians in Gaza.
Total Death Tolls:
• Since the ceasefire agreement went into effect in Gaza on October 11, 2025, 492 Palestinians have been killed, 1356 have been injured, and 715 bodies have been uncovered from under the rubble of their homes.
• The body of the last Israeli hostage in Gaza has been uncovered.
• The number of Palestinians killed since October 7, 2023, has reached 71,667 with 171,343 injured.
• The Israeli government is yet to open the Rafah Crossing, with reports suggesting that it might open on Sunday. Israel says that an Israeli security personnel will be able to block the entry or exist of Palestinians if needed and that names of people traveling will be sent for approval by Egypt then Israel.
• According to the second phase of the ceasefire, an international security force, which is still not clear as to who will join it, will enter Gaza and be positioned near the Yellow Line in areas Israel is supposed to withdraw from. Israel will still be occupying parts of Gaza divided into two more lines and it will only leave Gaza completely after Hamas and other factions disarm. Hamas says they didn't agree on paper to disarm and the issue of arms is a Palestinian one and will be discussed with other Palestinian groups.
• 20,000 injured Palestinians are waiting for the Rafah Crossing to open to be able to go to hospitals outside Gaza for medical treatment.
• 440 Palestinians need urgent life-saving medical intervention.
• 1268 Palestinians died while waiting for medical referrals outside Gaza.
• 4000 Palestinians with tumors are waiting to be evacuated from Gaza to get medical care.
• 4500 of medical referrals are children.
• Only 3,100 patients were able to leave Gaza after Israel’s closure of the Rafah Crossing on May 7, 2024.
• According to the Israeli Newspaper Haaretz, the Israeli Army accepted that 71,000 Palestinians have been killed in Gaza, a statistic that has been published by the Ministry of Health in Gaza.
• 60,000 Palestinians have been born in Gaza in 2025.
• The Israeli military continues to demolish homes and neighborhoods east of the Yellow Line in Gaza. Several Palestinians were killed as they were spotted inside the Yellow Line or as they approached it. The Israeli military treats the Yellow Line as the new border of the Gaza Strip and Palestinians are not allowed to be there. The Israeli military keeps expanding the Yellow Line and it occupies over 60% of the Gaza Strip.
