On January 13, I had my first baby. I named her Meryem. I hope her coming will bring peace to Gaza.
On January 16, 2014, my sister gave birth to Sarah. I posted on social media then that the best way to cure death is to give birth (life).
- Palestinians took to the streets to celebrate the news of reaching a ceasefire in Gaza. Joy could be seen on their exhausted faces. Their celebrations speak of how much they still cling to life.
- Israel continued its killing across the Gaza Strip, which even intensified soon after the news of reaching a ceasefire emerged.
- Seven Palestinians were killed in an Israeli airstrike on the Al-Burij refugee camp on Friday.
- Four Palestinians were killed by an Israeli airstrike in Al-Shujayia on Friday.
- A Palestinian child was killed by Israeli fire in the Al-Zayotun neighborhood in Gaza city on Friday.
- Palestinian journalist Said Nabhan was killed by Israeli fire in the Al-Nusierat refugee camp on Friday. He was the nephew of Khaled Nabhan, known from a video with his granddaughter where he calls her the "soul of his soul," who was also killed by Israeli forces in Al-Nusierat just several weeks ago.
- Palestinian civil defense teams said 10% of Palestinians killed by Israel have zero traces of their bodies left.
