Weekly summary of the War on Gaza, February 27, 2026
Caption: About 350 Palestinians were able to return back to Gaza this week through the Rafah Crossing and a similar number were allowed to leave for treatment.
Daily Death Tolls:
• On February 21, 2026, a Palestinian was killed and 10 others were injured by Israeli fire in Gaza.
• On February 22, 2026, two Palestinians were killed by Israeli fire in Gaza, 3 others were injured.
• On February 23, 2026, 1 Palestinian was killed by Israeli fire in Gaza, 8 others were injured.
• On February 24, 2026, 7 Palestinians were injured by Israeli fire in Gaza.
• On February 25, 2026, 3 Palestinians were killed by Israeli fire, 4 were injured. On the same day, the bodies of 6 Palestinians were uncovered from under the rubble of their homes. Israeli airstrikes targeted two groups of Palestinians in Al-Burij and Khan Younis killing 6 of them.
Total Death Tolls:
• Since the ceasefire agreement went into effect in Gaza on October 10, 2025, 624 Palestinians have been killed, 1663 have been injured, and 732 bodies have been uncovered from under the rubble of their homes.
• The number of Palestinians killed since October 7, 2023, has reached 72,088 with 171,761 injured.
• The Israeli government continues to open the Rafah crossing for limited traffic, allowing dozens of people in and out each day. On Thursday, for example, 50 Palestinians crossed the Rafah crossing, including 13 patients and 37 accompanying persons, while 41 returned to Gaza. A total of 286 trucks entered the Gaza Strip on Thursday, including 174 commercial trucks and 112 aid trucks.
